NEW DELHI: The Centre has raised concern over low vaccination coverage in Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Puducherry. The three northeastern states have less than 60% coverage of first doses, whereas Puducherry has 66% adult population vaccinated with at least one dose, which is far lower than the overall 82% first dose coverage in India.
Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a review meeting with the UTs on Monday and urged them to embark on an aggressive campaign to expand coverage. He advised roping in all stakeholders, including NGOs, religious leaders, and others to motivate and mobilise all eligible people towards full vaccination.
